A Lucid Dream is defined as a dream where you know you are dreaming and you can manipulate your dream. ‘Lucid’ in this context simply means aware or conscious of. The extent of the lucidity does vary from dreaming session to dreaming session and from person to person. This awareness is dependent on the dream, the stability of the dream, the experiences in the dream, and even how much the dreamer remembers when they wake up. Most of this is fairly largely influenced by your personal awareness during sleep and how much control you take during the dream.
Control over your dream is the most important element of Lucid Dreaming. It is an incredible experience to be in the midst of a dream and to know that you are in fact dreaming. You are in control of everything when having a lucid dream and can have any experience you choose to have.
Just take a moment to consider the possibilities. When you are Lucid Dreaming, everything feels and looks real, but you are aware that you are dreaming and will be safe no matter what happens in your dream. This is the kind of personal virtual reality experience which no computer yet created can come close to.
More people than ever before are trying Lucid Dreaming for themselves. While most people experience a Lucid Dream at some point in their lives, just imagine how exciting it would be if you could have Lucid Dreams any time you want!
Lucid Dreaming gives you the opportunity to do anything you’ve ever wanted to do; to experience anything you’ve ever wanted to experience. You can meet your favorite celebrities of the present and the past, visit other planets, have wild erotic experiences; anything which is within the power of your imagination is possible in Lucid Dreaming.
As neat as lucid dreaming sounds, it’s a lot more difficult to learn how to do. The process itself is pretty complicated to achieve. In the past most people would spend months, maybe years, attempting to achieve just one lucid dream. In the process they would put themselves through training and instructions and even self conditioning procedures. Then they may have one or even two lucid dreams. Even then they may manage only a few brief minutes or seconds of lucidity. Many others never even succeed just once.
So are there any simple ways of experiencing a Lucid Dream?
There are those who claim that the odds of having a Lucid Dream will be increased by having certain foods close to bedtime. Some of these foods are orange juice, milk, cheese and mustard.
Others recommend popcorn, pickles, fish and ice cream. While these people say that these foods prepare your mind for Lucid Dreaming, it should be noted that many of them are also high in salt and fat, which won’t necessarily help you to get a good night’s rest.
Is There Technology That can be of Assistance?
Technological developments have made it easier than ever for people to have Lucid Dreaming experiences. Devices which can assist you in having Lucid Dreams include sleep masks and eyeshades which flash a LED when REM sleep is detected, reminding the dreamer that they are dreaming and lets them take control over their dream!
Another of the new developments is an audio technology known as binaural beats. Different frequencies are played in each ear of the listener; this has been found to be helpful in achieving Lucid Dreams.
Binaural frequencies help to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain and make your brain more likely to reach REM sleep, which is needed in order for Lucid Dreaming to happen.
If you have always wanted to try Lucid Dreaming for yourself, binaural sound presents the quickest and easiest way to begin.
